Everyone needs a Custom Assessment
Everyone needs a custom assessment, and when you think of your own experiences, you'll agree with me.
Everyone needs a custom assessment.
Think about it. When you walk into a mall (especially for the first time), you have no idea where you are. You don't know where the Nike store or the Sephora is. What do you do?
You head to the map. We've all done it. And what do you look for?
The red dot. That's always the first move. The "you are here" dot.
Because if you don't know where you are, nothing else will matter or make sense.
Now imagine your customers.
They aren't the experts that you are. They haven't been doing the work you have for the last decade or more!
They're lost. And they need a map. But before they need a map, they have to know where their red dot is.
Have you ever gone to a doctor's office, or maybe a tax attorney's office (no offense to either) and they start rattling off jargon expecting you to be able to not only understand what they're talking about, but also how it applies?
But the best doctors and lawyers do it differently, don't they? They ask some questions and then start giving you a framework for understanding the level of challenge you're in.
"On a scale of not a problem to you're going to jail or will shortly die, this is nothing. You're dealing with a 2 on a scale of 1-10."
That's the contextual articulation of where you are at. That's the red dot. And we all need it. Whenever we step into a domain where we're not the expert, we need the map before the directions, and we need the dot before the map.
Does that make sense? Dot > Map > Directions
And that's why I think everyone needs a custom assessment. Not everyone everyone. But anyone who is providing expertise to non-experts.
Every Domain Expert Needs One
Because their non-expert customers need to understand where they're at before they'll understand their situation, and that's before they're ready to take your advice, and potentially hire you.
I've built tons of these over the last three decades. But it was normally anywhere from a few months to over a year.
Over the last three months I've built four. And the shortest has taken 3 days and the longest maybe 2 weeks. It blows me away.
But this is where your expertise stands out. Every version of a small quiz or assessment is tailored to your experience and what you know about your customers and the world they live in.
And today AI makes it much easier.
