When was the last time you were at the DMV?
Even if you call in advance, or use the web to schedule an appointment at the DMV, it can be a really frustrating experience.
You arrive, before your appointment time slot, and imagine that you'll just walk up and tell them, “I'm here for my 2:30 pm appointment.”
But that's not how it goes. Ever.
Instead, you end up standing in a line. And that line is only the first line you'll be in that day. Because later, you'll be in another line.
Even the US Post Office is faster.
And if you mistakenly get into the wrong line initially, you won't know you're in trouble until you get up to the desk and discover you've been wasting your time in the wrong line.
I know this to be true because it's happened to me. Multiple times.
So what does this have to do with WordPress & membership plugins?
Here's what I know about membership sites – you spend a lot of time up front getting it prepared, but then go months without touching your site again.
And that means that every time you step back into your back-end admin options, you're starting from scratch again.
Because you don't do it often, there's a chance you'll end up in the wrong line, wasting a lot of your time.
That's why selecting a plugin that is easy to learn is critical in your decision-making process.
How do you pick the right Membership Plugin?
This weekend I'll be speaking at a virtual conference on WordPress membership plugins. In my presentation, I highlight 6 critical questions that will help you distinguish between over 20 different membership options for your site.
The one question I didn't put in, but will be speaking about as well, is ease of use – and how critical it is. Especially for people who tweak their systems only one or two times a year (and forget everything in the in-between).
Will you join me?
For $30, you can sign up and watch the online streaming conference from the comfort of your home this Saturday – without needing to travel, book hotels, put on pants or even get out of bed.
I'd love to have you join me – not just because I'm speaking, but because some of my friends are as well, and I'm sure you'll enjoy and learn from what they have to say.
